The Remote Management Systems enables the BEAM support to be able to remotely access your device if has an Internet connection. This allows us to be able to remotely diagnose problems or change configurations for you.
Login to the Device #
To change the settings, you will need to login to the device’s Admin Panel. If you don’t know how to do this, please read the article HOW TO – Access the BeamOS Admin Panel (xSeries) first.
System Administration #
Go to the System Administration page by clicking the System drop-down menu in the top menu bar, and then select Administration.
Once on the System Administration page, click the RMS tab, as follows.
Enable RMS #
So that we can add your device to our remote management platform, we need to know Serial number and Lan MAC details, such as those shown above. Please take a note of these first (it might be easy to take a photo, or copy an paste into a document).
In the Connection type drop-down select the Enabled option and then click the Save button.
Once the device has connected to our platform, it will indicate this, as shown below.
Note: If we haven’t set your device up on our platform yet (for example we are waiting for the IDs as mentioned above) then the system will show “Connecting” in orange for a period of time until we’ve set it up. It will then connect the next to it checks in to our platform.
